Windowsills

Granite windowsills are the element which brilliantly accentuates aesthetics of building finishing. Its practical use is unquestionable. The material has very high endurance to abrasion, resistance to weather conditions and high hardness. Furthermore, it is easy to keep it clean. Also, stone windowsills match the elevation as well as the interior. We produce 2 cm thick windowsills. Our outside windowsills have a drip cut as a standard (indoor windowsills do not include a drip cut, it is provided on customised orders).

Characteristics and use
Granite windowsills are the element which brilliantly accentuates aesthetics of building finishing. Its practical use is unquestionable. The material has very high endurance to abrasion, resistance to weather conditions and high hardness. Furthermore, it is easy to keep it clean. Also, stone windowsills match the elevation as well as the interior.

The edges in our windowsills can be straight, rounded, quarter or half bullnosed. As a standard the frontal surfaces are polished or ground.

  • polished windowsills – slabs finished in this way are characterised by high smoothness. Stone has natural shine. The surface is relatively slippery. The acceptable coarseness ranges from 0.0025 to 0.02 mm. It is the most popular finishing, showing natural stone values and the full spectrum of granite shades.
  • ground windowsills – in this case the surface has distinctive coarseness. There are scratches after the use of abrasive materials while grinding. The acceptable depth of a scratch in case of rough ground textures is 1.5 mm; for preliminarily ground surface 0.3 -0.5mm and fully ground ones 0.1 -0.3 mm.

The available thickness of windowsills is: 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 10 or 12 cm. The standard outdoor windowsills have a drip cut ( indoor windowsills do not have a drip cut - only for customised orders).
